Welcome to Reaside Farm
Situated on a bend of the River Rea amongst rolling hills, Reaside Farm Cottages are the perfect relaxing retreat to explore the Shropshire countryside.
The cottages have been converted from farm buildings and retain plenty of period features including exposed beams. The beds are zip and link that can be made up as either a super king or two singles.
There is a heated swimming pool which is usually open from mid May to mid September.
The garden has some formal areas and other more natural areas including a wildlife pond.
The 100 acre farm is home to a variety of animals including horses, donkeys and peacocks. It is surrounded on three sides by the River Rea. There are 2km of river bank to explore without even leaving the farm. Wildlife is abundant from hares in the fields, buzzards and red kites circling overhead and you may catch sight of dippers and kingfishers along the river.

Simon Evans Way
The Simon Evans way passes along the river and through Reaside Farm. This 22 km walk is named after the author and postmaster who walked and wrote about this landscape in the 1930’s.
“The field path to Reaside Farm is close against the river, narrow strips of woodland line the banks, the leafy branches interweave to make a tunnel of green. Here I may catch a glimpse of a bright blue jewel flashing for an instant over the water – the kingfisher is a shy bird.” Simon Evans

Jack Mytton Way
This long distance footpath and bridleway forms the western boundary of the farm. It’s named after the 19th century Shropshire horseman Jack Mytton. Mad Jack as he was known was an eccentric rogue who squandered the family fortune before fleeing abroad. He became infamous for such antics as riding a bear into his drawing room, dressing up as a highwayman and setting fire to himself to end an annoying bout of hiccups.
